NaPoWriMo 2013 – Day 22

Over at NaPoWriMo, the prompt asks us to write an Earth Day poem. I have opted to honor all the colors of the rainbow – not just blue and green.

United Colors of Earth

By: Meena Rose

Life, impetus, survival;
Rage, inflammation, change;
Good fortune and danger,
All at once – primal.

Creative, abundance, warmth;
Vital, benevolence, healing;
Curiosity and fearless exploration,
All at once – boundless.

Bright, joy, purity;
Wise, elation, clarity;
Happiness and unrequited love,
All at once – sincere.

Fertile, balance, sacred;
Harmony, order, learning;
Nature and self-respect,
All at once – symphony.

Spiritual, inspiration, calm;
Confidence, exhilaration, strength;
Of sea and sky,
All at once – peace.

Mystical, intuition, solitude;
Insight, realization, cosmic;
Profound astuteness and spontaneity,
All at once – understanding.

Dynamic, imagination, practical;
Active, connection, focus;
Unlimited expansion while grounded,
All at once – purpose.

  1. claudsy says:

    Ooo, I like this. I would never have thought of something like this. How did this come to you, or are you keeping that secret?

  2. It would be interesting to see a re-written version of this poem that sorted through the BAD connotations of each color — green as the color of decay, red as destruction, blue as misery, etc.
